Fleming | Nolen | Jez, L.L.P. had the commitment, experience and resources to fight against the pharmaceutical giant Bayer to help its clients. Bayer makes many over the counter drugs which are used on a regular basis, including Aspirin®, Alka-Seltzer®, Aleve®, and One-A-Day® vitamins. Until late 2007, Bayer had a drug called Trasylol on the market, a prescription drug used during open heart surgery to allegedly reduce the amount of bleeding.

In late 2007, the Food and Drug Administration requested Bayer to remove Trasylol from the marketplace due to the drug’s associated increased risk of kidney failure and death. Bayer made more than $600 million in sales from the drug Trasylol before it was taken off of the market, but it was also alleged to have caused more than 22,000 deaths.

Representing various injured clients throughout the United States, Fleming | Nolen | Jez, L.L.P. fought to compensate its injured clients. The attorneys helped develop deposition outlines for other plaintiff attorneys across the nation. The firm also gathered detailed medical records and information on hundreds of cases to answer discovery. Teams of medical experts were interviewed and eventually retained. The firm’s dedicated attorneys were also among the first cases assigned by the Court, and proceeded to be, trial ready.  Ultimately, Fleming | Nolen | Jez, L.L.P.'s clients received settlements from Bayer to compensate them for their injuries.
