5 Dead After Helicopter Crash in Eastern Tennessee

HelicopterOn Monday afternoon, a Bell 206 sightseeing helicopter crashed in eastern Tennessee, killing the five people on board.

The helicopter went down the side of a mountain before crashing at the bottom and catching fire. Investigators on the scene reported that nearly the entire plane was destroyed by the fire and that only a few remnants remained.

The accident occurred at roughly 3:30 P.M. according to the Federal Aviation Administration. There was nobody on the ground who sustained injuries and no homes were damages as a result of the helicopter crash.

The crash occurred roughly 200 miles east of Nashville and three miles from Dolly Parton’s Dollyworld theme park.

Investigators were on the scene not long after the accident. There are no known causes at present time. The investigation will continue throughout the week.
