Sylvia Davidow is originally from Canada, where she taught English. After her family relocated to Houston, she attended law school and began her legal career in 1986 at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston. Sylvia served as a briefing and research attorney at the court, where she assisted appellate judges in handling appeals and drafting opinions. She also taught legal writing at the University of Houston. After leaving the court in 1988, Sylvia spent the next ten years practicing employment, benefits, and appellate law.
She joined Fleming & Associates in 1998, bringing to the firm twelve years of wide-ranging pretrial and appellate experience. Since joining Fleming & Associates, Sylvia as been responsible for, among other things, complex class action and mass tort appeals in state and federal courts throughout the nation. Over the past nine years, her practice has included products liability, commercial and insurance litigation. H TEXAS MAGAZINE has selected Sylvia as one of "Houston's Top Lawyers 2006" and "Houston's Top Lawyers for the People 2007." She is AV™ rated.
