Multiple Dead in Plane Crash in Georgetown

small planeOn Saturday, April 9, a plane crashed in Georgetown killing multiple people. The investigation is being performed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to initial reports, Trooper D.L. Wilson stated that the plane may have left Georgetown airport before going down at roughly 9:45 a.m. near Farm-to-Market 1331. While the Department of Public Safety believes that the plane was a twin engine turbo prop capable of seating 8, there was no confirmation regarding the number of people on the plane and how many died.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputies received a witness report claiming that it sounded as though the plane was experiencing engine problems before crashing.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are also expected to conduct investigations into the cause of the crash.
